With the summer semester around the corner, the countdown to our Altissia app launch has begun. The studyFIT English Learning Support service has partnered with Altissia, a Belgium-based company that provides online language lessons for self-directed learning. On Wednesday 6 April 2022 from 17.00 to 18.00, the Altissia team will show us the ropes of how to get the most out of the app. (All those who are signed up for the study will receive an email invitation). The hour-long training webinar will cover the ins and outs of navigating between the various language learning levels as well as technical issues. One thousand lucky FernUniversität students get to receive a free one-year licence to enable them to brush up their English skills in vocabulary, grammar and reading and listening skills. With your Altissia access code, you can log in on your mobile phone or desktop computer, any time of day or night.
If you have yet to sign up, please do so without delay to avoid disappointment.
The roll-out of the Altissia English-learning app is the first initiative of the newly-launched English Learning Support service. In time, we will develop bridging courses for each faculty to support students who need English skills to meet the demands of their various disciplines. Please bookmark this website in order to keep abreast of the latest news on English language learning at the FernUni.

Hi Prue,
Will this event be recorded and thus viewable at a later date?
What language level do you need to have to participate in this project? My level would be (school level)
As a part-time student, of course, the studies take precedence over anything else the Fernuni has to offer.
Therefore, what is the time commitment and what are the requirements?
Thank you very much for your message!

Dear Doris,
Thanks for getting in touch.
–> The webinar will indeed be recorded and can be watched in our soon-to-be-launched Moodle course.
–> Any language level will do. A- to C2.
–> It is an explorative study, so it is up to the participants to determine how useful the app is and how much time they feel inclined to spend on it.
–> Because we have since reached the maximum capacity for the study, all new registrations will go onto a waiting list.
With best wishes
